Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in hardware system design within the consumer electronics industry.
- Experience with prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, manufacturing support, and working in a lab-based environment.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Altium, or similar).
- Experience in digital and analog circuit design, including high-speed signal integrity (PCIe, MIPI, USB), microcontroller/SoC integration, and board-level power design (DC-DC, LDOs, PMIC, chargers, and power routing).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience owning electrical subsystems or entire products from concept architecture through mass production (NPI to MP).
- Experience with embedded Systems and cross-functional expertise bridging EE and Software (SW).

Knowledge in DC-DC design and power tree optimization, with a focus on efficiency tuning through simulation and component selection with PDN (Power Delivery Network) optimization, including DCR/ACR modeling and switching power phase response analysis.
- Understanding of the product development process for mass-volume production, with a focus on design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT).

The Pixel Watch Electrical Engineering (EE) team is responsible for the end-to-end hardware development of Google’s first-party (1P) Watch products. We work with product managers during initial concept and design phases, advocate new technology investigations, and manage the entire hardware life-cycle, from board integration and comprehensive validation to overseeing manufacturing to deliver products with a user experience and state-of-the-art health sensing capabilities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical architecture, integration, and validation of Google’s Watch products. Contribute to the new technology study and development for design optimization and new features.
- Guide the design and validation of PCBA/FPCA assemblies. Partner with Signal Integrity, Power Integrity (SIPI), and Product Design (PD) teams to resolve technical constraints and optimize hardware for scalability and performance.

Lead system bring-up, validation planning, and conduct measurements. Debugging the issue discovered from the factory production, reliability, user trial, RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization).
- Collaborate with Google technical teams on the function design requirement alignment, board routing optimization, cost analysis, and drive the engineering activities with the tasks, through the entire NPI phase.
- Work with the operation team on giving the clear requirements for factory testing, process improvement, test coverage, and assembly issue Failure Analysis (FA) and monitoring.
