Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)

Join WSP in the Middle East as a Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer leading electrical design delivery in the UAE. This role focuses on power distribution, lighting, automation, and sustainable electrical systems for high-profile developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design packages for complex building services projects.
• Oversee power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and UPS systems.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, BS, and UAE authority requirements.
• Drive sustainable electrical solutions including renewable energy integration.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical deliverables.
• Support project delivery from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of electrical building services design experience, with at least 5 years in the Middle East.
• Strong knowledge of regional codes and authority approvals.
• Proven leadership in managing design teams.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
