The Role

  • Deliver efficiently and on time the projects assigned to stakeholders, maximizing the potential for EnerMech.
  • Utilize strong technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and leadership qualities to manage clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Act as the point of contact for technical support during the pre‑commissioning process.
  • Lead project engineering tasks from initial kick‑off to final account, including pre‑engineering, selection of equipment spreads for pre‑commissioning activities, and identification of required vendors as per bids or project requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and all other functions necessary for project delivery.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of pipeline pre‑commissioning and de‑commissioning specifications.
  • Control project status reporting and close‑out documentation in an office‑based capacity.
  • Participate in client meetings to provide updates on project activities and maintain schedules for relevant project resources.
  • Proactively identify and communicate risks to project schedules, deliverables, and costs.
  • Serve as a client representative for site‑based duties, ensuring work scope implementation follows client and company procedures.
  • Ensure technical alignment of all pipeline engineering deliverables with project specifications and applicable offshore codes (e.g., DNVGL‑ST‑F101, ISO 13623).
  • Oversee integrity assurance during hydrotesting, pigging, and drying operations, ensuring proper test records and procedures are followed.
  • Interface with subsea installation contractors to ensure installation methods align with pipeline design limitations and seabed conditions.
  • Provide input to Lessons Learned and continuous improvement initiatives post‑project closeout.

Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas

  • Deliver work scopes from initial enquiry to final account.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for pre‑commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical input to address challenges during pipeline pre‑commissioning.
  • Support multi‑discipline project teams, managing communication with third‑party suppliers, subcontractors, and EnerMech service departments.
  • Supervise pre‑commissioning engineering deliverables, including internal, subcontractor, or supplier outputs.
  • Lead site work scopes as EnerMech’s responsible project engineer where appropriate.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews, constructability assessments, and readiness‑for‑operation checks for subsea pipeline systems.
  • Support subsea intervention and inspection campaigns, including ROV survey reviews and anomaly reporting.
  • Collate project‑related documents such as job tenders, costings, project plans, work schedules, implementation methodologies, close‑out, and certification documentation.
  • Develop technical documentation for flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, vacuum drying, nitrogen purging, and all pre‑commissioning and de‑commissioning activities as defined by bid or project requirements.
  • Design temporary items to be prefabricated for pipeline pre‑commissioning and de‑commissioning projects.
  • Accurate completion of purchase requisitions.
  • Track progress and chase where required.
  • Plan, provide, and deliver pre‑job briefs for assigned activities.
  • Ensure materials, personnel, and equipment are fit for purpose, available, and dispatched promptly.
  • Control and issue documentation to company and client standards.
  • Draft and issue project change documentation, capturing scope growth and variations.
  • Identify and communicate risks to the project and manage them appropriately.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support competency development in pipeline engineering and field operations.
  • Develop project cost forecasts and track actual expenditures versus budget to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support tendering and commercial teams by providing technical and cost input for pre‑commissioning scopes.
  • Ensure procurement strategies align with project cash flow and delivery timelines, optimizing vendor engagement.
  • Ensure change management is controlled across engineering deliverables.

Requirements

  • Higher National Diploma in a recognised and relevant engineering discipline or equivalent, with a willingness to develop further education.
  • Valid OGUK Survival and Medical certification.
  • Engineering degree or similar qualification with appropriate experience.
  • Project management qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with pipeline services or EPC companies.
  • Proficiency in codes & standards: DNVGL‑ST‑F101, ASME B31.4/B31.8, ISO 13623, API 5L, etc.
  • Experience conducting constructability reviews, participating in HAZID/HAZOP, and performing design risk assessments.
