Overview
Mastercard’s Regional Public Sector unit builds durable, trusted relationships with key government agencies to accelerate the transition to a cashless ecosystem. The Senior Vice President leads the strategy and execution, aligning Mastercard’s products, services, and ecosystem to solve government challenges in financial inclusion, citizen service efficiency, inclusive economic growth, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the regional government vision, strategy, and program, identifying prioritized markets, clients, and solution opportunities.
- Identify and pursue opportunities in digitizing large government flows, transformational infrastructure partnerships, major transit and tourism initiatives.
- Accelerate Mastercard’s revenue performance through a structured sales excellence approach.
- Manage a growing team of senior government specialists across target markets, fostering peer alignment with Divisional Presidents.
- Represent the Public Sector business within the region’s senior management, negotiating revenue and relevance objectives with other leaders.
- Align global, regional, and local resources to deliver execution, working closely with the Region’s President, Divisional Presidents, product and service units, and Strategic Growth management.
- Directly engage key government opportunities at the highest civil servant and political executive levels, develop opportunities, assist country managers, and win strategic deals.
- Build capacity at market levels by training sales on Mastercard solutions, narratives, and client references.
- Establish and manage a regional community of practice to cross‑fertilize best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience working for or closely with government agencies, managing process improvement and transformative change initiatives, and engaging senior government leaders.
- Proven track record in leading and closing large, complex government deals in the region.
- Consultative selling focus with deep product, services, and solutions expertise and a hands‑on approach.
- Strong engagement, communication, and transparency with senior Mastercard stakeholders.
- Adept at leading complex regional initiatives requiring cross‑functional, geographic, and cultural collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to work across divisional boundaries and act as a peer to other senior leaders.
- Self‑motivated, thriving in a fast‑paced environment, ready to take on stretch goals.
- Strong gravitas, exceptional relationship management, influencing, and communication skills.
- Open to travel across the region and globally.
- English fluency required; at least one other regional language is a strong plus.
