Responsibilities

• Acts as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractor, craftpeople and operative.
• Checks plan, drawing and quantities for accuracy of calculation.
• Ensures that all materials used, and work performed are as per specification.
• Oversees the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
• Liaises with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
• Liaises with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
• Communicates with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors) for site coordination and quality purposes.
• Manages the site daily, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors.
• Plans the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
• Oversees quality control and health and safety matters on site.
• Prepares reports as required.
• Raises and coordinates with all concerned to resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
• Performs other duties assigned by immediate superior as required.

Requirements

• 5 years’ experience in a similar position in Roads and Infrastructure projects.
