Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience programming in C++.
  • Experience in distributed systems design.
  • Experience with software design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience or interest in networking technologies/concepts such as Software Defined Networking (SDN).
  • Understanding of Internet routing technologies and router/switch telemetry.
  • Experience architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience with coding in data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production data to uncover gaps, error patterns, and opportunities for existing systems.
  • Design, develop, integrate and test the features.
  • Diagnose and resolve root cause issues within highly integrated ecosystems, including traffic engineering and admission control.
  • Mentor team members and partner teams understand the broader context, and solve the right problems at the right time.
  • Respond effectively to changes in the execution plan when they enable the right impact for Google.
