Special Educator – Middle School (Maternity Cover)
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Inclusion Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting an inclusive learning environment, supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement inclusive strategies that meet the diverse learning needs of students with SEN.
- Provide differentiated instruction and support to individuals or small groups of students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments to identify students with SEN and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SEN team and parents.
- Work closely with parents, teachers, and external specialists to create a collaborative support network for students with SEN.
- Implement evidence-based interventions and accommodations to address diverse learning needs.
- Stay updated on best practices, research, and advancements in the field of special education and inclusion.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that celebrates diversity and promotes a sense of belonging for all students.
Qualifications
- Managing responsibilities for Grade 6 to 10.
- Required qualification – minimum BEd. in Special Education.
- Experience (minimum 1 year) supporting students with diverse learning needs and familiarity with development of IEPs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- GEMS Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students and staff. A UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a pre-requisite for all appointments.

Note: This is a maternity cover position with the expectation to support an inclusive SEN program within the middle school setting.
