About POWERTECH
POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.
About The Role
The Systems Engineering is accountable for the overall technical integration, and compliance of turbofan propulsion systems throughout the full lifecycle — from concept to certification and service. Acting between product engineering and product management, this role ensures the system meets all customer, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle of turbofan propulsion systems — from concept and architecture definition through integration, testing, certification, and service entry.
- Establish and maintain the Systems Engineering framework (SEMP, requirements traceability, verification & validation plans) in compliance with standards defined.
- Ensure full requirement traceability between customer specifications, regulatory constraints and subsystem technical requirements.
- Drive the system architecture definition, functional decomposition, and interface management across propulsion subsystems.
- Lead integration activities between the engine and aircraft platforms, coordinating with airframe, installation, and control system teams.
- Oversee System Safety and RMST (Reliability, Maintainability, Supportability, Testability) analyses in collaboration with safety and reliability engineers, ensuring compliance with related standards.
- Support certification activities by providing system-level compliance evidence, participating in design and certification reviews (PDR, CDR, …)
- Coordinate with Product Engineering, Product Management and Manufacturing to ensure system integrity, technical consistency, and certifiability throughout development and production.
- Manage the technical baseline and configuration control for the propulsion system, ensuring proper documentation and change management.
- Mentor, coach, and develop the systems engineering team, promoting continuous improvement and alignment with company engineering standards.
- Support Product Engineering and Product Management lines and participate in client/partner coordination
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering within turbofan propulsion, aerospace, or other complex engineered systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in systems integration, requirement management, and certification for propulsion systems.
- Strong background in model-based systems engineering (MBSE), configuration management, and PLM environments.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and interface with certification authorities and customers.
- Experience with civil and/or military certification frameworks (EASA, FAA, EMAR) is highly desirable.
Skills
- Excellent systems thinking and the ability to balance technical depth with program-level vision.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, certification, and operations.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- High adaptability to changing requirements and fast-paced development environments.
- Strong customer focus with an emphasis on technical excellence and program delivery.
