Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in tax, with experience in information reporting and withholding.
Preferred qualifications:
- Juris Doctor, Master’s degree in Taxation, or CIRS Certification.
- Experience working with the IRS or state taxing authorities related to information reporting matters.

About the job
As the Tax Manager for Information Reporting and Withholding (IRW), you will play a key role in advising business units and internal stakeholders on the information reporting and withholding tax implications of Google’s product offerings and business operations. You will use your technical expertise in U.S. information reporting (e.g., Chapters 3 and 61, including FATCA and CRS) to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and strategically advise on new product launches and business expansions. You’ll be responsible for providing technical guidance on relevant tax legislation, supporting business units with compliance implementation, recommending system and process improvements, and managing interactions with internal tax operations, engineering teams, and external advisors.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$245,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance on tax legislation and rules under chapters 3 and 61, and advise stakeholders on the implementation of tax legislation as it relates to tax information reporting and withholding.
- Support business and product units to ensure continued understanding and compliance with existing information reporting withholding requirements. Support internal personnel with responses to government notices, assessments, and requests for information.
- Provide recommendations to businesses, tax operations, and engineers on upgrades, modifications, or development of new systems, processes, and procedures.
- Work with international tax and product counsel to make tax character and sourcing recommendations on new products.

Advise on transactions that fall under Section 6050W and the associated Form 1099-K requirements, review tax information returns for validity and accuracy with tax operations, and manage compliance with FATCA and CRS including working with external advisors.
