Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 7 years of experience in accounting or a related field, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
- 4 years of experience with indirect tax compliance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with SAP ERP system or Vertex tax compliance tools.
- Experience in a multinational or tech industry setting.
- Experience in project management.
- Ability to foster and thrive in an environment of continuous process improvement.
- Ability to work with cross-functional and international teams at all levels.
About the job
In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting and delivering these objectives. You will be responsible for operating and optimizing the end-to-end tax reporting process. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of tax requirements, including accurate provision of information to our service providers in order to prepare our indirect tax filings in the most efficient way. You will have the opportunity to be a part of global and cross-functional projects. As a well-rounded financial advisor you will guide the business to mitigate risk, optimize resource allocation and help build the financial infrastructure to scale the business.
Responsibilities
- Support Google’s indirect tax processes within International Controllership, including delivery of in-housed operations and management of processes and third-party vendors ensuring that all service levels are met, the internal control environment is robust and a quality service is provided.
- Identify and assist with implementing system and process improvements (e.g., implement tax automation tools to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy) while responding accurately and timely to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with the internal Tax team on new regulations and implementation of the same.
- Deliver the implementation of optimization opportunities for tax reporting processes within International Controllership.
- Deliver and manage agreed centralised activities and the ongoing engagement model with Country Controllership.
