We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President – Insurance to lead and manage the organization’s insurance function. This role is responsible for driving risk transfer strategies, overseeing insurance programs, and providing expert advisory across contracts and business operations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in risk assessment, insurance structuring, and contract negotiations , along with the ability to independently manage complex insurance cycles and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end insurance program cycle including strategy, data collection, placement, renewal, and documentation
- Develop and implement insurance renewal strategies to optimize coverage and premium costs
- Conduct risk assessments and determine appropriate indemnity limits in line with internal guidelines
- Review, draft, and negotiate indemnity clauses and insurance provisions in contracts
- Provide expert advice throughout the contract lifecycle , from tendering to closure
- Manage the claims process , including notification, follow-up, and resolution
- Advise internal stakeholders on insurance-related matters across business functions
- Collaborate with brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, and surveyors to ensure effective service delivery
- Support budgeting processes and oversee premium payments

- Timely renewal and optimization of insurance policies
- Efficient and accurate management of insurance cycles
- High-quality advisory on contractual and insurance-related matters
- Effective claims handling and resolution
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in insurance , including at least 3 years with a broker, insurer, or large organization (preferably within MENA)
- Minimum 4+ years in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong experience across general insurance lines , particularly property and liability
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and risk quantification
- Expertise in insurance structuring and program management
- Solid knowledge of contract law and indemnity clauses
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or related field
- Professional certification such as ACII, CPCU, or equivalent is highly preferred
- Office-based role with standard working hours
