Job Overview:

The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a positive dining experience. They greet customers, take orders, process payments, and assist with maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly service.
  • Take customer orders accurately and input them into the POS system.
  • Process cash, credit, or debit transactions securely and efficiently.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, or change as needed.
  • Answer customer questions about menu items, specials, or promotions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier station.
  • Assist with seating arrangements or guiding customers to tables.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.
  • Balance cash register at the end of each shift and prepare cash deposits.
  • Support other restaurant staff as needed during busy periods.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service preferred.
  • Strong arithmetic and basic math skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
