How will you make an impact?

This role is responsible for the accounting of our Swiss and UAE entities, as well as group consolidation across multiple jurisdictions. The Senior GL Accountant will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with international standards, and timely month-end and year-end closings.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Oversee and execute the day-to-day accounting for the Swiss and UAE entities, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

Manage and maintain the general ledger (GL), preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications.

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are complete and accurate.

Lead the group consolidation process, ensuring intercompany balances are properly reconciled and eliminations are accurately reflected in consolidated reports.

Oversee intercompany transactions, including invoicing, reconciliation, and settlement across multiple entities.

Support VAT and tax filings for Swiss and UAE entities by preparing relevant data, reconciliations, and documentation for advisors and tax authorities.

Ensure accounting records comply with IFRS and local regulations, as well as internal policies and audit standards.

Collaborate with external auditors, service providers, and advisors to support statutory audits and compliance processes.

Prepare and analyze balance sheet and P&L reports, ensuring data integrity and providing insights to management.

Maintain and continuously improve documentation of accounting processes and controls to ensure consistency and audit readiness.

Identify and propose process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency within the accounting cycle.

Work closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director on special projects, system implementations, and process optimization initiatives.

Support the wider finance team with ad hoc analysis, reconciliations, and reporting as needed.

We Are Looking For:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

5–8 years of experience in general ledger accounting, consolidation, or financial reporting, ideally in a multinational or international environment.

Strong understanding of IFRS, general accounting principles, and intercompany accounting.

Experience with Swiss accounting standards and VAT regulations is a significant advantage.

Proven experience with month-end and year-end closings, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Solid Excel or Google Sheets skills; ability to manage complex reconciliations and data analysis.

Experience with ERP systems (Salesforce/Certinia preferred).

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ownership of deliverables.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a proactive, structured approach.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.

Fluency in English is required; German is an asset.
