GROUP TREASURER — UAE-BASED CONGLOMERATE

The Organisation

Our client is a well-established, UAE-headquartered conglomerate operating across multiple verticals, including real estate, automotive, hospitality, and oil and gas. The group is seeking an exceptional treasury professional to lead its centralised treasury function.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Treasurer will be accountable for the group’s liquidity, cash management, banking relationships, and capital structure strategy. This is a senior, autonomous position carrying genuine authority at both strategic and operational levels, with six direct reports.

The incoming Treasurer will be stepping into a critical leadership role at a pivotal moment for the group. In addition to managing day-to-day treasury operations, the individual will play a key role in supporting the group’s expansion plans, funding new business projects, and leading the implementation of a new treasury management system or ERP treasury module.

• Managing and optimising the group’s cash and liquidity position across all operating accounts, including the maintenance of a rolling 12-month cash flow forecast.
• Developing and executing the group’s capital structure strategy in line with growth and working capital requirements—building and managing strategic relationships with banking counterparties, negotiating and maintaining group-wide funding facilities.
• Managing working capital facilities, funding construction and business projects, and conducting quarterly evaluation of foreign exchange exposure and hedging instruments.
• Implementing and overseeing treasury policies and procedures, ensuring covenant compliance, and engaging with internal and external auditors.
• Leading and developing a treasury team of six direct reports.
• Overseeing group insurance management, including automotive, marine, and medical insurance.

Candidate Requirements

• The successful candidate will be a seasoned treasury professional with 10–12 years’ experience across treasury, Finance, and accounting, including at least 4 years in a senior managerial treasury role within a diversified group or conglomerate.
• A Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent is essential.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent is required; a Master’s in Finance is preferred.
• Experience within the trading industry is advantageous.
• Candidates from large corporate environments with multiple business verticals will be of particular interest; candidates from a purely banking background will not be considered.
• The ideal candidate will be based in the UAE or wider GCC, and available to join within 30–60 days.
