Head of Engineering – Automotive Industry

Overview

The Head of Engineering is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the engineering department for Automotive/ Lifestyle & Luxury products.

المسؤوليات

1. Set the strategic direction for the engineering department and ensure that it aligns with the company’s overall goals.
2. Manage the engineering budget and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
3. Collaborate with international brands and jointly execute projects with our foreign acquired companies.
4. Hire, train, and develop engineering staff.
5. Oversee the engineering process from conception to deployment.
6. Ensure that engineering projects meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
7. Represent the engineering department to senior management and external stakeholders.
8. Plan, design, and oversee engineering projects, ensuring they’re completed on time, within budget, and with the expected quality and reliability; identify and mitigate risk.
9. Demonstrate an innovative, brave, and “We can do it” attitude when facing a new engineering project or development.
10. Take necessary actions to deliver the project on time and with the expected quality and reliability.
11. Lead the engineering team across different projects and ensure alignment with the company’s OEM after OEM business model (Fast, Easy to Plug and Play).
12. Collaborate with other departments (Sales, Design, SCM) and the GM to reach company objectives by following its business model.
13. Empower the engineering team by fostering accountability, responsibility, customer centricity, and excellence.
14. Set the necessary processes and procedures within the Engineering department.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 15 to 18 years of experience in engineering leadership roles in the automotive industry, preferably with experience in UAE.
• Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with automotive regulations and standards.

Skills

• Proficient in 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA).
• Experience with automotive design and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of automotive regulations and standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
