The AI in Education Specialist will serve within the Instructional Design & Development Unit of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). The specialist will play a strategic role in advancing the integration of Artificial Intelligence into teaching, learning, and assessment across the United Arab Emirates University.

Job Description

The AI in Education Specialist will serve within the Instructional Design & Development Unit of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). The specialist will play a strategic role in advancing the integration of Artificial Intelligence into teaching, learning, and assessment across the United Arab Emirates University.

Minimum Qualification

  • AI Expertise & Strategy – Lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of CETL’s AI initiatives (e.g., smart classrooms, intelligent knowledge navigation, adaptive systems).
  • Research and recommend emerging AI technologies to enhance learning, teaching, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop AI-driven tools, prototypes, and frameworks to support CETL’s mission.
  • Collaborate with faculty, IT teams, and leadership to integrate AI into academic programs and support services.
  • Establish AI ethics, governance, and best practices for the center.
  • Multimedia Design & Production – Design and develop visually engaging 2D/3D graphics, animations, videos, and motion graphics to support learning, communication, and innovation projects.
  • Create and optimize 3D models for AR/VR and immersive classroom experiences.
  • Integrate AI-driven content generation (text-to-image, text-to-video, etc.) into multimedia workflows for faster, scalable production.
  • Innovation & Collaboration – Build cross-functional collaborations with instructional designers, faculty, IT, and researchers to implement AI-enhanced learning solutions.
  • Maintain a knowledge hub of AI tools and resources for CETL staff and educators.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to build AI awareness and skills within the institution.

Preferred Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or Educational Technology. Additional qualifications in Multimedia/Graphic Design, Digital Arts, or related creative fields strongly preferred.

Expected Skills

  • 5+ years professional experience in AI development, research, or deployment.
  • Proven record of leading or implementing AI projects in education or learning environments.
  • 3+ years in multimedia content creation (graphics, video, 3D, or motion design).
  • Advanced programming skills in Python for machine learning, data pipelines, or chatbot/tutor development.
  • Experience with APIs, data integration, and automation scripts to connect AI systems with LMS and other digital learning platforms.
  • Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn for applied AI in education.
  • Ability to fine-tune large language models (LLMs) for educational use cases.
  • Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases for managing and analyzing educational data.
  • Demonstrated ability to merge AI strategy with multimedia innovation.
